Managed to fit in some track time at The Bend Motorsport Park over the weekend. I was eager to try out the West Circuit configuration (top) as I thought it would be a good way to test out the ITR.
There are a total of 12 turns in this configuration – each having a fun variety of elevation changes before following through with a final stretch by the pits:

The performance of the car was very consistent all the way through, we fit in some preparation work just the night before and it was certainly worth it.

Due to the pandemic measures, facilities were limited and track sessions were kept to small groups of people. The crew looking after us on the day were very thoughtful and ensured we still managed to get the most out of it 🙂

This also meant the mandatory use of garages in the pit lane – not that this is different to any other track day, but the boundaries also meant I had the freedom to comfortably take pictures 🙂

As I was doing this… I got a very cheerful “CHEESEEE” from out of nowhere… scrambling around to see where the voice came from, I finally looked above my pit to see some friendly faces saying hello 🙂

The early morning was damp but the weather held up all day. The occasional mist would come and go, but there was enough sunshine in between to keep the surface dry enough.

The beauty of cold ambient weather also meant that temperature management was… somewhat more manageable 🙂

As the measures meant low numbers, the crew was able to visit us individually – giving us the rare opportunity to thank them personally before we headed home for the day. These people volunteer to make sure you get home safe after all, so they deserve all the appreciation they can get 🙂
