INTEGRA – TYPE R

After a year of searching, I finally managed to find a TYPE R 🙂

I was really happy to find a DC2 that was within my budget and the owner was a great person to deal with. It wasn’t perfect, but it managed to tick the boxes I wanted and was relatively close despite being interstate.

Since driving back, restoration work had already started… and before long, I realised a fair bit of work was needed in order to get it inspected and roadworthy 🙂

The weekend weather was just too good not to enjoy it – So I decided to stop some of the restoration work and shoot some photos – so out came the old Nikon 🙂

The lighting really helped bring out the nice details. On the outside, I couldn’t keep my eyes away from the 2000 spec (16 inch) wheels:

On the inside, the MOMO steering wheel:

Japanese-spec mats:

… and of course, the red Recaro SR3 seats:

The engine bay also had the chance to shine. Surprisingly the head cover paint is still original! It will need to be restored at some point as some areas are beginning to fail.

I’m still getting used to the short gear ratios and how responsive the engine is – even when VTEC isn’t engaged. Though my experience with the B18C right now is quite limited, it’s been very, very positive so far 🙂
