(Updated 20th Oct 2019) In my earlier post, I spent most of my time working on the engine head. Since it involved breathing work, I decided to test fit the exhaust system.

Everything installed fairly nicely and the only thing that was slightly different was the catalytic converter – which is surprisingly more heavier than the original.

Once everything was in, I couldn’t help but to admire the entire system:

My old setup was barely holding up – it was weathered, leaked everywhere and I got used to the poor performance. A bit of a cleanup job around the body was needed as it produced soot all round. Every seal looked like it wanted to retire years ago…

I was happy that the exhaust shields were somewhat salvageable. They were quite weathered, but I managed to do what I could to retain them (sanded, rust-proofed and sealed with paint).

All fitted in and ready to be torqued in – currently addressing a slight alignment issue where the exhaust appears to be a little tilted.
